Ali Yang is a children’s book author, Navy veteran, and proud mama based in Colorado. Her debut picture book, The Adventures of Pork Bun and Mooncake: The Quest for the Perfect Noodle, is a whimsical, food-filled journey that celebrates imagination, sibling bonds, and the flavors of the world.

Ali spent five years living in the Pacific during her Navy service, where her love for travel, culture, and global cuisine deepened. Now, she draws from those experiences—and her multiracial family’s everyday magic—to create stories that nourish young minds and celebrate diverse voices.

When she’s not writing or reading with her kids, you can find her crocheting playful, food-inspired creations or sipping milk tea at a favorite neighborhood spot. Through her books and handmade crafts, Ali invites families to explore the world together, one story (or bowl of noodles) at a time.
